As God brought us together as a couple, He began to unify us with one purpose, one calling to the nations, to the generations and to the needs of others. This calling is continually developing as God reveals more of how He wants to use us as a partnership to further His kingdom.
Our call to the nations is simple : GO. In Mark 16:15, Jesus leaves His disciples with one final instruction to "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." This is a command, not a request, and we choose to live our lives in obedience to that command by living in service of ALL nations. We believe that God has called us to do something among the nations that we would not not believe even if He told us (Habakkuk 1:5). We are striving towards that calling by living our lives in full abandonment of our own desires and in full obedience of God's direction.
We are called to make the name and love of Jesus Christ known among all generations. We believe that this may be accomplished by discipling the current generation in a faith so deep that it is carried over into a future generation that has not yet been created (Psalm 102:18). Our desire is to teach our generation the true character of God so that all misconceptions of who He is may be replaced with truth and in turn they may come into such an intimate relationship with Him that is passed onto the next generation. "We will perpetuate God's memory through all generations, so that the nations will praise Him forever and ever" (Psalm 45:17).
"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak..." (Romans 15:1). That is our call to others. We are called to use the strength that God has blessed us with to defend those tho are without strength and cannot defend themselves. We are called to go into the nations with the love of Christ and "speak up for those who can not speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. To speak up and defend the rights of the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:8-9).
This is our calling. This is how we are to live.
